Party Planning Timeline

Here is a party planning timeline to help you know what to do when.

Three weeks before the party:

1. Select theme:
2. Create guest list
3. Send Invitations (should include: Date of party, Time (starting, ending), Place)
4. Plan and select decorations
5. Begin collecting materials and creating your props
6. Prepare menu and grocery list
7. Select and hire caterer/seving help (if needed)

A few days before the party:

1. Call any gues who have not responded
2. Prepare and freeze or refrigerate food items that can be made in advance
3. Decide on what oufit or costume you will be wearing

One day before the party:

1. Clean the house, party room, or party site
2. Set up and arrange party room
3. Thaw frozen party foods
4. Get serving peices
5. Coordinate last minute arrnagements with caterers and severs

The day of the party

1. Decorate party room
2. Prepare and arrange remaining food
3. Coordinate set-up, sevice, cleanup with hired helpers
4. Mentally go through party stages
5. Dress in party oufit
6. Turn on music, light candles (20 - 30 minutes before guests arrive)
7. Wait for the first guest
