We had an amazing time the last two weekends catering El Dorado’s Passport Weekend for the 18th year! In the past, we have catered the event at Boeger Winery, Perry Creek Winery, Holly’s Hill, and Busby Winery, and this year we had the opportunity to serve at Mira Flores Winery in the VIP lounge. They hosted a fun Great Gatsby themed party complete with 1920’s music, flappers, floating bubbles, and delicious food and wine pairings on their beautiful patio with views of the estate vineyard and pond.
We loved working with the Mira Flores Winery team, and coming up with fun food pairings to go with their wonderful wines. Here’s a look at what we served:
Pairing #1 (VIP Lounge Special) – Grilled oysters topped with a Mira Flores Chardonnay garlic butter and shaved parmesan cheese paired with Mira Flores 2016 Chardonnay.

Pairing #2 – Jamon and Manchego cocretas with a 1853 Mission Wine, dijon, and sour cream drizzle paired with the Mira Flores 1853 Mission Wine. (Fun Fact: The Mission grape is the oldest grape in the U.S. The vines were first brought over from the Canary Islands by the Missionaries!)

Pairing #3 – Smoke salmon mousse with cucumber and dill on sourdough crackers paired with the Mira Flores Pinot Grigio.

Pairing #4 – Chewy marshmallow brownies paired with the Mira Flores award winning dessert wine.
Weekends full of delicious food, amazing wine, people having a fun time are always our favorites. We’re already looking forward to catering next year’s Passport Weekend!
